LG says it is technically ready to produce a foldable smartphone, Korea Times reports. “We looked at the release of a foldable smartphone when we were going to make a 5G phone, but we decided not to put it into production.” Competitors are coming with smartphones with folding screens. Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi, among others, will do this, with which a new category of smartphones is on the way.

The South Korean manufacturer explains that the company focuses on two series of smartphones. The V series, in which the V10, V20, V30 and V40 ThinQ appeared so far, will become the 5g series. Where the earlier V phones appeared in the fall, the V50 ThinQ 5G will be released this spring. The G series will consist of 4G smartphones. LG is currently a relatively small player in the smartphone market. Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and some other manufacturers, among others, sell more smartphones than LG.
