LG comes with two cheaper phones with buttons on the back
LG has presented two new Android devices with buttons on the back, just like LG’s most expensive model G3. The L70+ and L80+ are midrange phones, but the manufacturer is keeping prices and release dates to itself.
Both devices have many of the features LG first showed on the G3, such as the Quick Circle case, a flip cover with a round opening to show the time and notifications. Knock Code, where users can enter a security code without turning on the screen, is also on both devices. The smartphones also have the volume buttons and On/Off button on the back, just like the G3, and they run on Android 4.4. Support for 4g is missing on both models.
The L80+ has a screen diagonal of 5″ and the LCD has a resolution of 854×480 pixels. The phone runs on an undisclosed quad-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. Almost all L-series phones to date have Snapdragon processors from Qualcomm on board. The 13.8x7cm phone has a thickness of 10.7mm and has a battery with a capacity of 2540mAh.
The smaller L70+ has a 4.5″ screen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels and has a quad-core processor at 1.2GHz, which is presumably a Snapdragon 400 with four Cortex A7 processor cores and Adreno 305 GPU.
LG will probably announce more about the devices during the IFA electronics fair, which will take place in Berlin in two weeks. Prices and release dates for both devices have not yet been announced. The predecessors, the current L70 and L80, currently cost around 130 and 170 euros respectively.
