LG seems to be planning to release a physical payment card to which users can link their existing cards. The so-called White Card seems to be part of the previously announced payment system Pay.

The rumors come from the usually well-informed Korean news website Etnews. They also showed an image of the possible payment card. It shows that LG has built in a small screen that probably shows which payment card is active; according to the rumours, it is possible to link all kinds of existing payment cards to the so-called White Card. As a result, users only need to have one payment card in their wallet.

In addition to a small screen, the White Card has buttons to switch between different payment options. There is also a connector to charge the card; an indicator of the remaining battery capacity is located on the screen. However, it is not yet known how long the card will last on a full battery charge.

The Korean manufacturer is said to be planning to announce the White Card at Mobile World Congress next month. A spokesperson for LG, who did not confirm the existence of the White Card, said that most major payment providers will participate in LG’s payment service.

LG released Pay some time ago, but the service is only available in South Korea for now. With Pay, LG is one of the many tech companies that has its own payment service, in addition to companies such as Google, Apple and Samsung. It is unclear whether the release of the White Card will also be accompanied by a broader rollout of Pay.
