LG comes with Google Assistant speaker and more products with voice control
LG has announced a speaker with Google Assistant. In addition, the manufacturer comes with more equipment that can handle voice control via the speaker. LG mentions an air purifier as an example.
To control the air purifier, users have to say “OK Google, talk to LG, turn on the air purifier”. The command ‘talk to LG’ points out that this is an intermediate step to let Google Assistant communicate with other devices from the South Korean manufacturer.
Presumably these are products in the new ThinkQ series. Last week, LG announced that it would use that name for smart home devices that use artificial intelligence and can communicate with each other.
LG also places the smart home speaker in the ThinkQ series. Specifications have not yet been announced and it is not yet clear how large the speaker is. The manufacturer claims that the speaker has a high sound quality, thanks to audio technology from Meridian. More details about the speaker and other ThinkQ equipment will be released at the CES trade show, which begins January 9 in Las Vegas.
