LG has announced an Android phone with the largest battery that the manufacturer has so far put in a phone. The X power2 is a low-end device with a 4500mAh battery, larger than the 4100mAh of last year’s X power.

According to LG, the X power2 is intended for users who want large batteries and screens. The X power2 has a 5.5″ LCD with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The Android 7.0 smartphone is also large for its screen size. At 15.4×7.8cm, it is about the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus, a 5, 5″ smartphone with also huge bezels.

The battery can charge quickly and after an hour the phone is half full from empty, reports the South Korean hardware maker. LG only reports about the soc that it is an octacore with a clock speed of 1.5GHz. It is probably a MediaTek MT6752M, a soc that LG previously used for cheaper models. It has eight Cortex A53 cores, assisted by a Mali-T760MP2 GPU from ARM. The manufacturer adds 1.5GB or 2GB of lpddr3 memory. The storage is 16GB.

The phone will first be released in Latin America at the end of March and will later be released in Europe, among others. The predecessor X power was also released in the Benelux last year. LG has not yet announced the price of the X power2. The X power received a price of around 200 euros.
