LeTV announces three smartphones with USB-C as audio port

The Chinese manufacturer LeTV has announced three phones with USB-C as audio-out. The 3.5mm jack is missing on the devices. It is the first time in a few years that devices appear without the old 3.5mm input.

The new devices come with earplugs that work via USB-C to compensate for the lack of a 3.5mm jack. The throughput of audio is in the specifications of usb-c. It is the first time in several years that devices appear without a 3.5mm input. Previously, Alcatel One Touch did that with the Idol Ultra and Oppo with the R5.

LeTV, which today makes smartphones as LeEco, announced the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2. The Le Max 2 is the most expensive and is equipped with a Snapdragon 820-soc, with four Kryo cores and a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz. The soc is assisted by lpddr4 memory of up to 6GB. The UFS storage is up to 64GB. A cheaper version of the device has 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage.

The device has a 5.7″ LCD with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The phone has a 21-megapixel camera, a Sony IMX230, with phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization. The cheaper version should cost around 285 euros, for the more expensive one. should be deposited around 340 euros.

The cheaper Le 2 Pro and Le 2 each have a 5.5″ LCD with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and run on MediaTek processors. The Le 2 is a Helio X20, the Le 2 Pro the X25. The difference is in the clock speeds of the Cortex A72 cores and the GPU.

The cheaper models have the same camera, but without optical image stabilization. Moreover, LeEco has exchanged the lpddr4 memory for lpddr3 memory and the storage is not ufs, but emmc 5.1.
