Lenovo Z5 turns out not to be a ‘full screen smartphone’
Lenovo has unveiled the Z5 smartphone. Earlier renders and a concept image seemed to suggest that the phone would have few bezels around the screen and would not have a notch, but the Z5 does appear to have a notch and has a clear screen bezel at the bottom.
The Z5 has a 6.2-inch display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a 1080p resolution, with the phone’s screen edges being thinner than those of the Xiaomi Mi 8 or iPhone X, according to The Verge. Also, according to the manufacturer, the notch at the top of the screen is thinner than that of the aforementioned two smartphones.Lenovo speaks of a relative screen size of 90 percent.
That contradicts previous statements by Lenovo. The deputy director of Lenovo, Chang Cheng, published a concept drawing of the Z5 at the end of May, on which hardly any screen edges and no notch can be seen. It was mentioned that the smartphone would have a relative screen size of 95 percent. A relative screen size of 90 percent is better than the average current smartphone, which comes out between 75 and 85 percent.
Lenovo’s Z5 smartphone has an undisclosed eight-core Qualcomm SOC and a 16-megapixel dual camera. The battery has a capacity of 3300mAh and the model with 6GB ram and 64GB storage will cost 173 euros in China. The version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs 240 euros there. Whether the Z5 will also come to Europe and what the price will be here is unclear.
