Lenovo Yoga 900 with Skylake processor appears at webshop
Several configurations of the Yoga 900 from Lenovo have appeared in the range at the French webshop Fnac. The convertible laptop will be equipped with Core processors of the Skylake generation and will probably have a different design than the Yoga 3 Pro.
A Yoga 900 model with type name 80MK003CFR has appeared at Fnac. This model has a Core i5-6200U, 8GB memory and a 512GB SSD. The price that Fnac mentions is 1499 euros. In addition, there is the 80MK003DFR with Core i7-6500U for 1699 euros. Both laptops have a battery with a capacity of 66Whr and have USB 3.1.
The Yoga 900 is the successor to the Yoga 3 Pro, with a more powerful processor and more battery capacity. The Core M processor of the Broadwell generation, with tdp of 4.5W, has been exchanged for Skylake processors with tdp of 15W compared to the 3 Pro. The battery capacity has gone from 44Whr to 66Whr. According to Notebook Italia, all this has consequences for the weight and thickness. Where the Yoga 3 Pro was 12.8 mm thick, with the Yoga 900 it is 14.9 mm and the weight has increased from 1.19 to 1.29 kg. Nothing is known about other external changes.
The release comes at a time when Lenovo is in the process of simplifying its naming scheme and product portfolio. The Chinese company grouped convertible laptops under the names Flex, Yoga and Yoga Pro, but now opts for the Yoga name, followed by a model number. Lenovo will likely unveil the Yoga 900 at the IFA electronics fair in Berlin in early September.
