Lenovo starts its first European assembly line for servers and workstations
Lenovo has opened its first assembly facility in Europe. The manufacturer now produces servers, storage systems and workstations in the extensive complex in Ullo, Hungary
The complex in Ullo has a floor area of almost 50,000 square meters, divided over two buildings. It is with that according to Lenovo one of its largest production facilities worldwide. According to the company, more than a thousand servers and four thousand workstations roll off the assembly line every day. At the start, 1000 people are employed, but this number will increase as the manufacturer ramps up production.
In a video, Lenovo among other things how dimm memory modules are labeled automatically. Solar panels with a capacity of 0.5 megawatts have been installed on the roof. Ullo is a small town in Hungary, about 25 kilometers from Budapest. Lenovo has more than 35 manufacturing facilities worldwide.
