Lenovo sells more than ten million Motorola smartphones
Lenovo shipped more than ten million Motorola smartphones in the final months of 2014. This doubled the number of smartphones delivered with the Motorola logo compared to the same period in 2013.
The doubling is probably due to the release of Motorola’s most important smartphones, namely the Moto G 2014, the Moto X 2014 and the Nexus 6. In total, Lenovo supplied more than ten million smartphones from Motorola. With Lenovo’s own devices, a total of just over fourteen million, Lenovo claims to be in third place in the smartphone market, after Apple and Samsung.
In recent months, Lenovo also delivered its one-hundred-millionth ThinkPad laptop. Shipments for all laptops totaled 16 million units, resulting in a market share of around 20 percent. Lenovo’s turnover amounted to 14.1 billion dollars, or 12.4 billion euros. The profit was 253 million dollars, or around 223 million euros.
