Lenovo releases new Chromebook and laptop for students
Lenovo has released a new Chromebook for students. The company also comes with a new ThinkPad Yoga laptop with Windows, and the company is renewing a number of existing laptops and Chromebooks.
The most notable Chromebook the company is introducing is the Lenovo 10e tablet. Lenovo does not disclose specifications. The company says it is a tablet that can be expanded to a laptop with a keyboard. That keyboard is water-resistant, but does not have an IP rating. The 10th is particularly distinguished by the fact that it has a sturdy housing, with extra sturdy Dragontrail Pro glass. The device would run on ‘a MediaTek processor’, but the company does not say which one. The device will be available from March starting at $269, or Euro 242.
Lenovo also comes with a new ThinkPad 11e Yoga, a laptop that, just like the 10th, has a sturdy housing. The difference is that the ThinkPad 11e Yoga uses an Intel processor and has Cornings Gorilla Glass. Both the 10th and 11th work with a stylus. Lenovo says the computers will receive guaranteed security updates for at least the next eight years. The 11th Yoga will be available in February for $699 or $630.
Lenovo says that in addition to the new devices, it is also updating a number of existing devices. The 100th, 300th, and 500th Chromebooks and the 100th and 300th second-generation Windows laptops are getting “new processors.” Lenovo does not disclose which ones exactly. The Chromebooks are available immediately for 192, 287 and 359 euros respectively. The Windows laptops will cost 269 and 314 euros.
