Lenovo laptop with thin bezels appears online
A Lenovo laptop with a 14-inch screen has appeared on various American web stores, which has a similar size to what 13-inch laptops usually have due to its thin screen edges.
The IdeaPad 720s has appeared on Newegg, among others. It has a 14″ IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1080. Despite what is common with laptops with thin screens, Lenovo has managed to place the webcam above the screen.
The version on Newegg is equipped with an Intel Core i7-7500U, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD. There is also an Nvidia Geforce 940MX GPU in the laptop. The model costs 1329.99 dollars, which, with the current dollar rates and with VAT added, comes down to more than 1450 euros. Also on Best Buy is a version with a Core i5-7200U, 8GB ram and a 256GB SSD, which costs $949.99.
The weight of the laptop is 1.6kg and the metal housing is about 1.5cm thick. Lenovo provides it with a 56Wh battery. There are also two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 connection, HDMI, a headphone connection and an SD card reader in the laptop. The power supply is via a separate connection.
Newegg indicates that the laptop will be available from July 27. Lenovo has not made any announcements about the laptop yet, so it is not clear whether and when the laptop will be available in the Benelux. It is also unknown whether variants with other specifications will appear.
