Lenovo Introduces Workstation Convertible with Wacom Touchscreen and Stylus

Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad P40 Yoga. This is a mobile workstation with 14″ touchscreen that supports control via a Wacom stylus. As with previous Yoga systems, the screen can be folded for a tablet mode.

Lenovo announced the ThinkPad P40 Yoga at the Autodesk University 2015 event, making it immediately clear what the target audience for the device is, which is graphics professionals such as 3D designers. The mobile workstation features a 14″ display with IPS panel and resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Lenovo uses Wacom’s Active ES touchscreen technology that provides 2048 pressure levels, in combination with the rechargeable Pen Pro from Lenovo.

The processor is a Core i7 of the Skylake generation, in combination with up to 16GB of RAM and an SSD with storage capacity of 512GB. The video card is a Quadro M500M from Nvidia with 2GB video memory. Nvidia doesn’t seem to have announced this mobile card yet.

In addition, Lenovo releases the Thinkpad P50s, which has a regular 15.6″ screen with a resolution of 2880×1620 pixels. This screen is not touch sensitive. However, a Core i7 is again present, as is the Quadro 500M. In the first quarter of 2016 The systems should appear.The P40 Yoga will then start at a price of 1399 dollars, converted and with VAT almost 1600 euros, while the starting price of the P50s is 1299 dollars.
