Lenovo introduces 12″ tablet with detachable keyboard MIIX 700
Lenovo is launching a new line of seven ideacentre and ideapad desktops, laptops and tablets. The new portfolio includes a two-in-one tablet, the MIIX 700, an AIO 700 desktop and five new laptops.
The hardware manufacturer reports this on its site. The MIIX 700 ideapad is a 12″ tablet with a detachable keyboard. The tablet’s screen has a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels and a stand to put the tablet upright. The tablet has an Intel Core m7 processor built-in. The maximum amount RAM is 8 GB. It is not clear from the press release whether it is lpddr3 or ddr3l; the Skylake-soc supports both. For storage, you can choose an SSD with a capacity of up to 256 GB. The whole weighs 780 grams, although it is not clear whether that is with or without the keyboard.The starting price is 999 euros and the device is available from January 2016.
Lovers of all-in-ones will get their money’s worth with the ideacentre AIO 700 series. The all-in-ones are available in a 24″ or 27″ model, both with a maximum resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. These devices also get Skylake processors, along with a GeForce GTX 950M GPU. The cheapest 24″ all-in-one changes hands for 749 euros and is available from November.
The additions to the ideapad laptop range include the 100S, 300S and 500S. All versions are one step thinner and lighter than their predecessors. For example, the 14″-300S weighs 2.1kg and the 15″-500S 2.3kg. Both have an Nvidia GeForce 920 graphics card on board and up to 1 terabyte of storage memory. The 500S gets a Skylake processor.
The 300S starts from 349 euros and no introductory price is known yet for the 500S. The cheaper 100S uses an Intel Atom Z3735F in the 11.6″ version and a Celeron N3050 in the 14″ version. Both will have a suggested retail price of $189 and $229 respectively. No euro price is yet known for the cheapest 100S. There’s also a Chromebook version of the 100S, but it’s only available in North America. The laptops will be available from November.
