Lenovo holds event for likely 2016 Moto G announcement
Lenovo has sent out invitations to an event in India on May 17. The manufacturer will probably show the next generation of its Moto G smartphone there. There have been rumors about the new budget smartphone for some time.
The invitation only shows the text ‘You wouldn’t want to miss this’, ‘you don’t want to miss this’, according to a Times of India article. The invitation also has a Moto logo, which makes it clear that it is a new product from Lenovo’s Moto division.
Because Lenovo previously hinted at a spectacular announcement of a Moto smartphone on June 9, it seems to be a cheaper model. Moreover, there were earlier rumors that the next Moto G would be released in May. The Moto G 2016 or Moto G4 would include a metal edge and fingerprint scanner on the front. That’s no surprise, because Lenovo previously announced that all its devices will have metal elements and fingerprint scanners.
Pictures of the new Moto G appeared online some time ago. Two versions would appear, where the camera would mainly differ. It is unknown if and when the device would appear in the Benelux.
