Lenovo has shipped five million units of its Moto Z phones to date. The series has been around since the fall of 2016 and all models are compatible with Moto Mods, which users can click on the back.
Of all models together, Lenovo has delivered five million copies, the manufacturer says in the quarterly figures. This concerns the Moto Z Play, Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play. It is rare that Lenovo mentions figures about specific models or series. The Chinese company often sticks to general figures about growth or contraction.
Lenovo delivered 23 percent more Moto smartphones in Western Europe in the last quarter of 2017 than in the last months of 2016. The manufacturer does not mention figures on worldwide deliveries, but turnover has remained the same. Lenovo’s mobile business remains loss-making, posting a loss of $92 million in recent months.
The Chinese hardware maker shipped 15.7 million PCs in the last quarter. Lenovo earned $9.3 billion in the PC market in recent months, an increase of 7.6 percent. Lenovo’s total revenue was $12.3 billion, the highest in three years. Due to reforms in the United States, Lenovo had to pay a large one-time tax in that country. As a result, nothing was left below the line and Lenovo suffered a loss of 289 million dollars.
