Lenovo equips ThinkBook Plus laptop with 10.8″ E Ink screen on the outside
Lenovo introduced the ThinkBook Plus at CES 2020, a 13.3 “laptop with an E Ink screen as the most striking feature. This screen is located on the outside of the laptop and can be used by folding the regular laptop screen.
The ThinkBook Plus comes with the Precision Pen for taking notes on the E Ink screen, for example, with Microsoft OneNote synchronization supported. Lenovo has told The Verge that certain small parts of the E Ink screen are able to refresh faster than the entire screen at once. That led to an experience where note-taking felt quite responsive, according to The Verge editor. There’s also built-in integration with the Windows Kindle app, so the screen can be used as an e-reader.
The laptop has a 1080p IPS panel with support for Dolby Vision. A fingerprint scanner is built into the button to turn on the laptop and the aluminum housing is also equipped with a USB-C connection, two regular USB connections and an HDMI output. The ThinkBook Pro can be equipped with an Intel i7 CPU of the tenth generation, comes with Windows 10 and an SSD, where an Optane SSD from Intel is also an option.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Pro is expected to be available in March starting at $1,199.
