Lenovo calls the arrival of GeForce GTX 1180 video card

Lenovo mentions in an interview the arrival of a ‘GeForce 11 series’ and the ‘GTX 1180 video card’ from Nvidia. With this, the manufacturer seems to have revealed the name under which Nvidia will release the next generation of cards.

There have been plenty of rumors about the next generation of Nvidia video cards, but both Nvidia and manufacturers have not released anything yet. However, in an interview with Brainbean at the E3 game fair in Los Angeles, a Lenovo employee let slip that the manufacturer’s Legion gaming systems will initially be delivered with the GTX 1060, but eventually also with GeForce’s 11 series. cards, up to the GTX 1180. Although the employee mentions the name twice, there is still a chance that he also bases himself on the name as already emerged in the rumors. The GTX 2080 was also mentioned as the name for the successor to the GTX 1080.

Lenovo will equip the desktop PCs with the new generation of cards from the fall of this year. The announcement is therefore expected earlier. PCGamesHardware speculates that it will take place at Gamescom in Cologne at the end of August.

According to rumors, the cards that will probably appear as GTX 1170 and 1180 will receive GPUs of the Turing generation. Recently a photo of an Nvidia pcb with 12GB gddr6 memory appeared, but it is not known whether this was a test model of an upcoming desktop card.
