LEGO Releases Builder’s Journey Puzzle Game for Switch, PC and Apple Arcade
LEGO has released a new version of the geometric puzzle game Builder’s Journey for Nintendo Switch, Apple Arcade and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. On PC, the game has support for Nvidia RTX and real-time ray tracing.
In the puzzle platformer, the player works as a son and father on a journey through a world of puzzles. According to developer Light Brick Studios, the game has the “best rendered Lego bricks yet”. Previously released for iOS, the game is now coming to Nintendo Switch and PC in an updated version. On PC, the game also gets support for DLSS and real-time ray tracing with Nvidia RTX.
In many ways, the game resembles the popular iOS and Android game Monument Valley. That too is an atmospheric puzzle platformer in a geometric world. The big difference is that in this game players play with Lego blocks and that they are the distinguishing part of the game. Players have to create and partially invent objects themselves to progress in the world. Art Director Jonas Norlen calls on players to see the game above all as a moment of reflection and relaxation. “There’s no need to rush through the game,” he says in a making-of video. “Think of this as a break from everything else in your life. Take it easy, relax.”
