Turtle Rock Studios has released an unfinished expansion for the first Left 4 Dead game. The expansion adds an extra world to the game that takes place on the route from an airport to a dam.

The extension, called Dam It, has a size of just under 300MB and can be downloaded immediately. However, the download link on the website doesn’t work, but a user on Turtle Rock Studio’s forum uploaded a copy to Google Drive. Dam It is fully playable, but does contain some bugs. There are also some light and sound effects missing. The campaign bridges the gap between the Dead Air and Blood Harvest episodes from Left 4 Dead.

Turtle Rock Studios is the development team responsible for the first Left 4 Dead game. It was acquired by Valve in 2008, after which it was renamed Valve South. In 2009 the team split from Valve and got its old name back. The studio continued to work for Valve to develop expansions for Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.

The team was later taken over by Take Two, who let the team focus on the development of Evolve, an FPS game released in 2015 under the publisher 2K Games, which is again part of Take Two. With this, further development on Left 4 Dead expansions has been suspended and Dam It has never been fully completed. Work on Evolve has now also been halted.
