LeEco presents Le Pro 3 smartphone with Snapdragon 821

The Chinese smartphone maker LeEco has presented its Le Pro3 smartphone. It is one of the first phones to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 soc. There are variants with 4 and 6 GB of memory.

The Le Pro 3 has a battery capacity of 4070mAh, while the device has a thickness of 7.5mm. The manufacturer has kept the bezels limited. The phone with 5.5″ LCD has dimensions of 151x74mm. In addition to the Snapdragon 821 at 2.4GHz with built-in Adreno 530 GPU, the Le Pro 3 has a memory of 4GB or 6GB of the lpddr4-type.

The ufs 2.0 storage has a capacity of 32 or 128GB. The phone has a Qualcomm Sense ID fingerprint scanner. Unlike many other scanners, Qualcomm’s implementation works with ultrasound, just like the ultrasound works. As a result, the scanner also works with wet fingers and through many types of material. The scanner is on the back.

The camera is a Sony IMX298 with phase detection autofocus and an f/2.0 lens. The front camera has an f/2.2 lens and a maximum resolution of eight megapixels. The phone supports two SIM cards, both of which are suitable for 4G. The Pro 3 is reportedly lacking support for 4g on 800MHz and 900MHz, although it should work on 1800, 2100 and 2600MHz. The Pro 3 runs on LeEco’s skin Eui 5.8 based on Android 6.0.

Like the Lenovo Moto Z and iPhone 7, the phone does not have a 3.5mm input for headsets. LeEco already did this with the Le 2 series earlier this year, which also do not have a headset input. There is a USB-c port for audio and the manufacturer supplies earphones for that USB-c port. Charging via the same port is done with 12V and 2A.

The Pro 3 costs in China from 1799 yuan, currently converted about 241 euros. For variants with more RAM and storage, the manufacturer charges higher prices, up to about 370 euros.
