Leaked photos may show the designs of a reference version of the AMD Radeon RX 470 and a version of the RX 460. It is not clear whether the latter uses a reference design or not.

The photos were posted on Videocardz, which in turn links to a resource on the Chinese community Baidu. That link now returns a 404. Not too much is known about the alleged RX 460. It may be a custom pcb, but that cannot be estimated based on the single photo that has appeared of the card. What can be seen is that the cooling is provided by double fans, which should be enough for the tdp of this card: 75 Watts. The person responsible for the leak tells Videocardz that this model will have variants with 2 and 4GB of vram. The latter seems to fall outside the reference design of AMD.

The RX 470 shown is much more like a reference design. It looks from the outside as a single block with a blower fan, just like the well-known reference variants of the RX 480. This card has a single six-pin power connector and the power supply has 4+1 phases. The card has a backplate at the bottom. The card has no DVI output; the maker of the photos uses an adapter for this. This card should go on sale for $179 in the future, according to Videocardz sources.

It is striking that on a photo with a list of specs it is indicated that it concerns ‘ATI Radeon R7 Graphics’ while the RX 470 is connected.

AMD has already partially announced the official specifications of the reference designs of these video cards. The RX 460 has a Polaris 11 GPU with 14 CUs and a 128-bit memory bus. The RX 470 has a Polaris 10-gpu on board and works with 32 CUs and a 256-bit bus. Further information about these two AMD cards is not yet known. Sapphire also unveiled a custom version of the RX 480 on Friday.
