Leaked photo shows Nikon 105mm f/1.4 lens

Japan’s Digicame info has published a photo of a Nikon 105mm f/1.4 lens. The website states that the bright lens will be announced on August 26 and will cost about 2000 euros converted.

The photo shows that it is an autofocus lens that is suitable for full-frame cameras. The combination of the focal length with the wide aperture will allow for pictures with a very shallow depth of field. Presumably, the design of the lens places a lot of emphasis on how those out-of-focus areas are displayed, but information about the optical construction is not yet available.

There are currently no manufacturers that have a 105mm f/1.4 lens in their range. Many brands make an 85mm f/1.4, while lenses with longer focal lengths from 100 to 135mm usually have a maximum aperture of f/2.0.

In full, the lens goes through life as the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 105 mm f/1.4E ED. Nikon hasn’t announced anything about the arrival of the lens yet, but the Digicame info regularly publishes photos and information about new camera products before the official introduction. According to the Japanese website, the 105mm f/1.4 will cost 233,280 yen. Converted that is about 2000 euros.
