Lead Developer Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Leaves Ubisoft
The creative director behind action game Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Alexandre Amancio, has resigned from Ubisoft Montreal. After working for Ubisoft for seven years, the developer will start working at marketing company Cossette.
After seven years of loyal service, Alexandre Amancio is ending his career at Ubisoft. Amancio moves to marketing company Cossette, where he and a colleague will lead the company’s creative team. That’s what the company made this week familiar.
According to Amancio, working for Cossette is not much different from working in the game industry; the Canadian states that he can also use the same creative qualities that he used in making games in his work at the marketing company.
Alexandre Amancio joined Ubisoft in 2005 to work as art director on the shooter Far Cry 2. After that, Amancio became the creative director of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. That game was released in November 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, followed shortly after by the PC version in December. Set in ancient Constantinople, the game didn’t reach the same high marks as its predecessor Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, but nevertheless turned out to be a worthy conclusion to the storylines of Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Altaïr.
