Laptop from Asus has 17″ screen in slightly larger housing than 15″ model

Asus has announced the StudioBook S, a laptop with a 17-inch screen in a housing slightly larger than that of a 15-inch laptop. According to the manufacturer, the screen displays colors accurately thanks to factory calibration and thanks to the hinge, the screen can lie flat on the table.

The StudioBook S W700G3P measures 38.2×28.6cm, compared to, say, 35.7×23.6cm of the Dell XPS 15. The 17″ LCD has a 16:10 ratio, a matte finish and a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. screen has a 5.3mm bezel, which is slightly more than the 2.5mm of the ZenBook S13, which Asus also presented on Monday.

The laptop has a USB-C port with support for Thunderbolt 3, three USB-A ports with USB 3.1 Gen2, an HDMI connection, an SD card reader and a 3.5mm jack. In terms of wireless communication, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11ax, with 2×2 MiMo and Bluetooth 5.0.

The processor is an Intel Xeon E2176M or Core i7-8750H, both hexacores. The graphic muscles come from the Nvidia Quadro P3200 with 6GB gddr5-vram. The keyboard is backlit and has a travel of 1.4mm. The trackpad has the ability to display numeric keys for quick number entry. The battery of the laptop has three cells and a capacity of 57Wh. The laptop weighs a total of 2.4 kilograms. Asus does not want to say anything about the price. The laptop will be released around spring.
