Kuo: Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 support lossless audio playback
Apple will release the Airpods Pro 2 this year and it will support the Apple Lossless display, according to noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The earphones would also receive a case that can display a sound to indicate the location.
That the Airpods Pro 2 support the Apple Lossless Audio Codec, according to MacRumors, Kuo reports in one of his announcements to investors. Apple is expected to introduce the new Airpods Pro generation, with noise canceling, in the fourth quarter of 2022. It is not known how the display of ALAC will go. Until now, no playback at a higher quality than the lossy AAC codec has been possible via Bluetooth.
According to Kuo, the storage box for charging will have the option to play sound to locate the case. The accessory will probably receive integration in Apple’s Find My app. Last year Bloomberg claimed that the AirPods Pro 2 will include custom motion sensors and a strong focus on fitness tracking. Apple made the first generation of the AirPods Pro available in October 2019. The ears would also get a changed design.
