Koss has filed suit against five companies for alleged use of proprietary wireless audio technology. These are the companies Apple, Bose, Skullcandy, Plantronics and Jlab.

These are patents 10,206,025, 10,298,451, 10,469,934, 10,491,982 and 10,506,325 which are registered with the US patent office and all describe techniques for audio systems with wireless earbuds. This is evident from court documents that have been put online by Law360. According to Koss, the technologies in which they pioneered have been taken over by Apple and the other companies.

In the indictment, Koss pays a lot of attention to the company’s long history in the audio field, including the development of the first stereo headphones. The company also claims to have developed the first wireless headphones with the Striva series.

In addition, Koss states that there have been conversations with Apple a number of times to explain that Apple’s wireless earbuds, among other things, infringe Koss’s patents, but the two companies could not agree, which is why the latter will go to court steps.

In the lawsuit, Koss is seeking damages for the use of the patented technology by the said companies. The amount of the damage must be determined by the court, should a patent infringement be proven.
