Konami working on co-op game Metal Gear Survive
Konami announces the first new Metal Gear game since the departure of spiritual father Hideo Kojima. Metal Gear Survive will be released next year on Steam for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will be a four-player co-op game.
The story of Metal Gear Survive is set in an alternate reality, after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. According to Konami, the game offers a “fresh look” at the series, with the familiar stealth elements in a “unique co-op setting”.
Konami has released a trailer for the game and announced that the game will be playable with four players. The gamers have to fight against hordes of zombies and as the title of the game indicates, the goal seems to be mainly ‘survival’. No release date has been announced yet, but the game should make its way to PC and consoles next year.
It is the first game in the Metal Gear series that does not involve Hideo Kojima. The creator of the series left Konami at the end of last year and is now working with his own production company in collaboration with Sony on a new project, which will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
