Konami has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will be released on August 30. The publisher provides details and shows the first trailer and screenshots. The Champions League and Europa League are no longer part of the game of football.

Konami says it has more licenses from clubs and stadiums, but does not mention which ones have been added. Furthermore, the publisher announces that PES 2019 will receive several new skill traits, with which players can perform so-called Magic Moments on the field. These are movements or actions that are characteristic of a particular football player.

Furthermore, players’ fatigue will be physically visible and will impact performance and behavior. Konami also promises new mechanisms for shooting the ball. Among other things, better account is taken of the position of the ball and the player and the style of the footballer.

Konami also says it improves the movement of the nets in the goals when the ball flies in. There will be new animations to celebrate goals and the audience should be more detailed and more exuberant in the new version of the football game. The snow effect also returns.

In myClub mode, Konami promises major innovations and the introduction of a player card design system. Exactly how that card system will work has not yet been announced. At competitor FIFA, packages with cards for real money can be bought, Konami may want to integrate the same in PES. In the myClub mode, Players of the Week will become available; soccer players with boosted stats, based on their performance in the real world.

Konami has previously announced that it has terminated its partnership with UEFA. The Champions League and Europa League will therefore not return in Pro Evolution Socces 2019. However, the partnership with the International Champions Cup will remain and that competition is also in the new game. Elements of it are implemented in Master League mode. That game mode will also feature a new transfer negotiation system.

PES 2019 is out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on Steam. The game can be played in 4k resolution and with HDR playback on all platforms, provided supported hardware is used. FC Barcelona player Philippe Coutinho is on the cover. There will also be a special David Beckham version of the game.
