The free expansion that adds the Men’s European Football Championship to eFootball PES 2020 will not be released on April 30. Konami says the expansion will come, but when is not yet known.

A physical release of PES 2020 in combination with the DLC has been canceled. Last month, Konami announced the release date of April 30, just days before UEFA decided to postpone the football tournament until 2021. Now Konami . says that the Euro 2020 DLC will not be released on the stated date, but that it will be later. The postponement has to do with the situation in Japan, where a state of emergency has been declared to contain the corona virus.

Konami says that people who bought PES 2020 will be able to download the European Championship update for free at a later date. With this, the developer seems to indicate that the expansion will not be delayed until the official tournament next year. After all, PES 2021 will also be released later this year.

The plan was also to release a physical version of PES 2020 with the European Football Championship expansion, but that will not happen again. An e-sports tournament organized by Konami in collaboration with UEFA will continue. That Euro 2020 tournament will be played with PES 2020 without the European Championship expansion. The finals of that virtual tournament will take place on 23 and 24 May. Those finals will be held online, not at a meeting in London, as was initially planned.
