Konami announced a revised version of the TurboGrafx-16 console. The PC Engine Core Grafx mini is, as the name suggests, a more compact version of the original console from 1987. Konami has not yet announced a release date or price.

The PC Engine Core Grafx mini, as the console will be called in Europe, includes games such as R-Type, Ninja Spirit, Dungeon Explorer and Alien Crush. It is not known how many games are on the console in total. The full game library will be announced at a later date, along with the price and release date. The console has a smaller form factor than the original to fit in the palm of one hand. Konami bundles the system with a controller.

Furthermore, the console has two USB ports to connect a controller and if that is not enough, there is also support to connect an adapter for more connections. Furthermore, there is the possibility to save the progress at any point in a game and multiple screen sizes are supported. In the United States and Japan, variants with a different look and name appear, they are called the TurboGrafx-16 mini and PC Engine mini respectively.

The original console, which was only available in limited editions in Europe, was released in Japan in 1987. Among other things, the console was the first console with an integrated CD-ROM drive. A portable version was also released, the PC Engine LT. This version had, among other things, a built-in screen and speakers.
