Koch Media working on new Painkiller game and confirms Payday 3 arrival
Koch Media has launched a new publishing label called Prime Matter. A dozen games will be released under this label, including Payday 3, which Koch was already known to release. There is now also a new Painkiller game.
Koch Media describes Prime Matter as a new premium gaming label that includes studios around the world. The new label will be placed next to labels such as Deep Silver and Milestone. Prime Matter will be based in Munich and according to Koch will publish a lot of new games in all kinds of genres, but also take up existing brands, such as Warhorse Studios.
One of the most notable announcements of new games under Prime Matter is a new Painkiller game. Koch Media is not yet revealing any details about this game and only says that more information will follow shortly. The original Painkiller was released in 2004 and Painkiller: Hell & Damnation followed in 2012. No new game has been made in the series since then. It is still unclear which developer is involved with the new Painkiller game.
Furthermore, it is now clear that Payday 3 will also fall under Prime Matter. This game is made by the Swedish Starbreeze Studios. It was already clear that this game will be released in 2023 for consoles and PC. The Payday games revolve around carrying out bank robberies. In Payday 3, Hollywood will be the setting.
In the list of games that fall under Prime Matter, the new game Crossfire: Legion is also mentioned. This is a futuristic RTS game made by Blackbird Interactive. This is the developer of Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Homeworld 3.
