Kingston Introduces New 2.5″ SATA SSDs
Kingston has announced the KC600 SSDs. These are 2.5″ SSDs based on 3d-tlc-nand that have the traditional sata interface. The two versions with the lowest capacities are currently available, the two with the highest storage capacities will be released soon.
The KC600 SSDs come in four different capacities, namely 256, 512, 1024 and 2048GB. Sequential read speeds are up to 550MB/s and sequential write speeds are up to 520MB/s. The controller is the SM2259 from Silicon Motion.
The SSDs do random reading and writing with 90,000 iops and 80,000 iops respectively. Kingston lists TBW values of 150TB, 300TB, 600TB and 1200TB for the four different SSDs from smallest to largest.
Kingston’s new SATA SSDs are available individually or in bundles for easy insertion into a desktop or laptop computer. The manufacturer does not mention prices of the SSDs, but Hardware Info reports in a review that the 1TB version of the KC600 will probably cost about 130 euros.
