KDDI shows Fx0 smartphone with Firefox OS and transparent housing
Mozilla has announced the Fx0 for the Japanese market in collaboration with the telecom company KDDI. The smartphone runs on Firefox OS 2.0 and is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400-soc. The device, which is produced by LG, supports 4G, among other things.
One of the striking points of the Fx0 is the transparent housing and the Firefox logo is also incorporated in the home button. The device was developed by LG and runs on Firefox OS. LG has equipped the Fx0 with a Snapdragon 400 processor in combination with 1.5GB of RAM. The amount of storage memory is 16GB, which can be expanded by up to 64GB with a micro SD card.
The device has a screen diameter of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The Fx0 is also 10.5 mm thick and has a battery with a capacity of 2370 mAh. The front camera is good for 2.1 megapixels, while the rear camera is promised 8 megapixels. The weight of the device is 148 grams.
In terms of connectivity options, the Fx0 includes 4G, making it the first Firefox OS device to have this. Recently, there were already rumors that a smartphone with similar specifications would appear. However, the model is only released in Japan and the sales price is about 50,000 yen, according to The Verge, which is converted to an amount of 340 euros.
