Judge forces household book to stop importing ING transactions
In the future, users of the Afas online housekeeping book will no longer be able to import transactions from accounts at the ING bank by logging into internet banking. Afas had made that link possible, but a judge has banned the system.
A judge of the Midden-Nederland District Court ruled in summary proceedings that Afas in his service Afas Personal incites users to violate the general terms and conditions of ING’s internet banking. Those terms state that users are not allowed to type in their username and password on third-party sites, to ensure security.
Afas will no longer offer the service with immediate effect. It is not yet known whether the company will appeal against the decision of the preliminary relief judge. Afas has been offering the service since June.
