JBL will release Charge 5 speaker with built-in power bank in March for 179 euros
JBL has released the Charge 5. The new portable speaker is dust and waterproof and can be used in combination with other JBL models like previous models. The Charge 5 has a separate tweeter and dual bass speakers.
According to the company, the JBL Charge 5 uses JBL’s own Signature Pro Sound, which should provide a deeper bass. There are also two double passive radiators for this. There is also a separate tweeter in the portable speaker.
Users can stream music to the device via Bluetooth 5.1. The speaker can also be linked to other JBL devices to simultaneously play music with more volume. JBL calls that technology PartyBoost; the feature was also in previous and other models such as the Boombox 2.
The Charge 5 has a built-in power bank that allows users to charge devices via USB, even when the device is playing music. The battery has a capacity of 7500mAh and the speaker functions for about twenty hours on a single charge, according to JBL. The speaker has an IP67 certification for dust and water resistance.
The new Charge will be available in seven colors, including one with camouflage print. The device is for sale from March this year and costs 179 euros.
