JBL shows Bar 5.0 MultiBeam soundbar with Virtual Dolby Atmos for 399 euros
JBL has introduced the Bar 5.0 MultiBeam, a soundbar with five drivers and four radiators that should enable virtual Dolby Atmos. The American company also shows new headphones, earplugs and wireless speakers that will appear this spring.
According to JBL, the Bar 5.0 should be able to mimic surround sound thanks to Harmans MultiBeam and simulate upward-firing speakers with Virtual Dolby Atmos. The Verge writes that the soundbar has three drivers on the front and two drivers on the sides. The Bar 5.0 also has four radiators.
The soundbar comes with a remote control and, according to JBL, can handle voice control via smartphones and music services. In addition to Bluetooth, the soundbar supports Apple Airplay 2, Chromecast and Alexa Multi-Room Music. The soundbar will be available from this spring for 399 euros.
In addition to the soundbar, JBL is introducing two new headsets with active noise cancellation in the Tour series. The JBL Tour ONE is a pair of headphones with 40mm drivers that support frequencies up to 40kHz. The wireless headphones work with Bluetooth and have a maximum battery life of fifty hours. When users turn on noise cancellation, it becomes twenty-five hours. Charging is via USB-C, with ten minutes of charging the headphones can be used for two hours.
Users can use the noise canceling of the headphones without Bluetooth being enabled via the SilentNow function. Smart Audio Mode allows users to set the quality of the over-ear headphones’ Bluetooth connection. In music mode, the reliability of the connection is increased, in video mode, the headphones provide lower latency. In addition, there is a third, normal mode. The headphones have four microphones for voice control and phone calls. The JBL Tour ONE will be on sale from May for 300 euros.
The JBL Tour Pro+ are in-ear earphones with a battery life of eight hours with Bluetooth connection turned on and six hours with active noise cancellation on. The earphones have 6.8mm drivers and are wirelessly rechargeable via a Qi charger. With fast charging, the earphones can be used for an hour after charging for ten minutes. The earphones have three microphones, are sweat-resistant according to the IPX4 standard and are available from May 2021 for 200 euros.
