Jaguar will only make electric cars from 2025

Jaguar stops making cars with combustion engines. From 2025, only electric cars of the brand will be for sale. Land Rover, which falls under the same parent company, will also release electric models from 2024.

Electric variants of all Jaguar and Land Rover models will be available by 2030, the British car manufacturer writes. The two brands will use different platforms. Jaguar will be repositioned as a luxury brand for only electric cars and will stop using combustion engines altogether.

Jaguar will continue to use the existing model names for new electric versions. According to the company, a completely new portfolio of electric models will be available in 2025. The planned electric Jaguar XJ that the company previously worked on and showed teasers of is being scrapped. There may be another model with the XJ name.

Land Rover will offer six all-electric variants of its SUV models over the next five years. The first electric Land Rover will be released in 2024 and by 2030 there should be electric alternatives for all models that the brand makes. Land Rover will continue to use combustion engines, but will phase out diesel engines. That should be ready in 2026. The British carmaker aims to be a carbon neutral company by 2039.
