Jagex is working on an open world survival game. Not many details are known about the game except that it takes place in the RuneScape universe and that the game will be built on Unreal Engine 5.
The RuneScape studio made a mention of the still unannounced game in a message. In it, the company announced that it has hired three experienced game developers to lead the development of the game: Maddie Harper, Géry Arduino and Guilhem Barloy. Harper and Arduino have both worked for Ubisoft. There they participated in the Assassins Creed series. Barloy worked at Evolution Studios, the maker of the PlayStation 4 racing game Driveclub, among others.
Jagex does not provide any further details about the open world game. For example, it is not yet known what it will be called, what the game will look like and on which platforms it will appear. Jagex does say that the game is being made on the basis of Unreal Engine 5.
