Jabra parent company acquires peripherals maker SteelSeries

Jabra parent company GN Store Nord acquires peripherals maker SteelSeries. The company wants to expand its activities to the gaming market. GN and SteelSeries expect the acquisition to close in early 2022.

The two companies announced the acquisition in a press release. The acquisition involves an all-cash amount of 1.075 billion euros. With the acquisition, GN wants to expand into the gaming market. SteelSeries makes peripherals for gamers, including mice, keyboards, controllers and headsets. The CEO of GN Audio reports in a press release that the audio division of the company had been looking for a way to enter the gaming market for some time.

SteelSeries is a Danish gaming company with 350 employees, spread over branches in Denmark, France, the US, China and Taiwan. SteelSeries will continue to operate under GN as a standalone company, and the company’s leadership team and organization will remain unchanged, SteelSeries reports. The company says the acquisition should help accelerate its growth in the gaming market.
