ISO file size Windows 11 is almost eight percent larger than Windows 10
Windows 11 is taking up more and more space. For example, version 23H2, the last major release, has an ISO file size of just over 6GB. That is almost 8 percent more than the last version of Windows 10, 22H2.
While the ISO file size of Windows 10 22H2 was still 5.8GB, this has now increased to 6.24GB for Windows 11 23H2. In the original Windows 10 version, the ISO file size was still under 4GB. That reports Windows Latest.
The ISO file size increases with every update, partly due to the addition of new features, but also due to bloatware. Microsoft recently decided to no longer install the Maps and Movies & TV apps by default in Windows 11. However, these apps are not removed from existing installations of the OS.
