iPhone 14 gets a new design without a notch – and this is what it looks like

Everyone is busy with the iPhone 13 that will be presented next week during the Apple event. But Apple watcher Jon Prosser lives in the future and is already enthusiastically sharing details about the iPhone 14. After all, this device will be in stores in a year or so. You can see what the iPhone 14 looks like without a notch in the renders that Prosser has already had made.

iPhone 14: without notch and camera bump

Prosser has had iPhone 14 renders made based on the information he has. The images nicely show what Prosser expects from the iPhone 14:

• The notch (the bite from the screen) disappears. It will be replaced by a ‘camera hole’. This punch-hole design is in line with information previously shared by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
• The iPhone is a bit thicker, but that also means that the camera no longer protrudes. The lenses, flash and LiDAR scanner are all behind the glass on the back.
• The frame is made of titanium.
• Round volume buttons, similar to the buttons on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5.
• Redesigned speaker and microphone grilles with elongated mesh cutouts instead of separate holes on the bottom of the unit.
• The Lightning connector will remain on at least some of the iPhone 14 models.

Trustworthy?

At Prosser, you never know. He was right about the colorful new iMac earlier this year, and he knew exactly what the AirTags was going to look like early on. But sometimes he completely misses the point. Prosser is already building a caveat himself, saying details and dimensions may still change.
