iPhone 11 Pro: get to know Apple’s new top device

Spread the love

The name already gives it away: the iPhone 11 Pro is one of the outside categories. The new top device from Apple was just presented at the September event. On the outside, it looks like a copy of its predecessor (the iPhone XS Max), but there is one important spearhead: the stunning camera system.

The iPhone 11 Pro is again in two variants. The “regular” has a screen of 5.8 inches. There is also a Pro Max version. No: no extra fast phone with “33” and the face of Max Verstappen on the housing, but the bigger brother of the iPhone 11 Pro. This device has an OLED screen of 6.5 inches. Apart from the size, there are no differences between the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The OLED screen – which Apple calls Super Retina XDR – has been improved. For example, the brightness has been increased from 660 to 1200 Nits, so you can see the screen better in bright sunlight. The screen also supports Dolby Vision HDR and HD10.

Apple holds onto the design. The iPhone is available in a new color: midnight green. The space gray and silver hue is also refreshed and there is a new golden color. On the outside, the iPhone Pro looks a lot like the iPhone XS (and therefore also the revolutionary iPhone X from 2017). The format has remained the same and the notch for, among other things, the selfie camera seems to be exactly the same size. On the back you will find a striking change: the camera lenses are sunk in a square bump. Two lenses instead of three. And not neatly below each other, but in a triangular arrangement.

Pro camera

The biggest improvement concerns the camera as expected. We found that the camera of its predecessor was incredibly good, but with the triple camera system (the iPhone XS has two lenses), the camera is really a pro. The extra lens is an ultra-wide camera. This has several advantages. The most obvious advantage is the range, but it also makes a better optical zoom (4x) possible.

In addition, the camera has been extended with a new technology: Deep Fusion. The iPhone 11 Pro shoots 9 photos and turns it into a single image with the help of machine learning, which results in a photo in which all lighting conditions are beautifully exposed. All three cameras also shoot videos at 60 frames per second.

Processor and battery

The iPhone 11 Pro has an A13 Bionic processor, which makes the iPhone more powerful and efficient. In addition, both the larger and smaller versions have received a larger battery. The performance of the battery is therefore considerably improved. According to Apple, the battery of the iPhone 11 Pro lasts 4 hours longer than its predecessor: the iPhone XS. The iPhone 11 Pro Max even lasts five hours longer than the iPhone XS Max. And with these devices, we were already impressed by the battery life …
