iOS 16.2 now available for iPhone and iPadOS 16.2 for iPads
Apple makes iOS and iPadOS update 16.2 available. The new version of the operating system makes changes to the always-on display of the iPhone 14 and introduces a karaoke mode for Apple Music.
The update is now available for download and adds a few new features. Apple is adding a new option for the always-on display on the iPhone 14 and 14 pro, which can hide the background image on the Lock screen. The feature was already in beta 3 of iOS 16.2, but is now also included in the release version.
In addition, end-to-end encryption in iCloud has been expanded to 23 types of data. Previously there were 14. Earlier this month, Apple announced that end-to-end encryption is being extended to iCloud backups, backups of Messages, Reminders, Bookmarks in Safari, Assignments, Dictaphone recordings, iCloud Drive, and information from the Wallet app .
The update also makes the announced karaoke function available for Apple Music on iPhones and iPads. Apple Music Sing shows users the lyrics in real time so they can sing along. Apple comes with a number of playlists with songs that have been specially optimized for Apple Music Sing.
Finally, Apple announces a new brainstorming app to: Freeform. This is a kind of virtual whiteboard on which notes, sketches and other ideas can be placed. Freeform also allows you to work on projects with others. The app has integration with FaceTime, so that a video call can be made while working together.
