iOS 13.1 beta coming before iOS 13 is released
Apple has released a beta version of iOS and iPadOS 13.1 for developers. That is striking, because the final version of iOS 13 is not yet available. The numbering seems to indicate that iOS 13 is ready, but that an update will follow soon after the release.
Apple has posted details about the developer version of iOS and iPadOS 13.1 on its website, and 9to5mac has listed changes that are actually visible to users from the iOS 13 betas. It shows that iOS 13.1 brings back features that were initially present in betas of iOS 13, but later disappeared. These include Shortcuts Automations and the Share ETA feature in Apple Maps.
The final version of iOS 13 is expected with the arrival of Apple’s new iPhones, which are said to be presented on September 10. By launching a beta of iOS 13.1 in the meantime, Apple will be able to continue development and will likely release an update with both bug fixes and new features soon after release.
