Into the Abyss Expansion for EVE Online Coming May 29
CCP Games has announced Into the Abyss, an expansion for mmorpg EVE Online. The free expansion will be available in late May and will include a player versus enemy environment called Abyssal Deadspace.
According to CCP Games, the upcoming expansion will add gameplay that is brand new to veterans of the game as well. The Abyssal Deadspace is an environment in which players can fight independently against computer-controlled enemies. According to the developer, the area can be entered from almost anywhere in New Eden.
In the Abyssal Deadspace, players will experience “unpredictable encounters” and must survive by knocking off enemies. The area is home to a new enemy: the Triglavian Collective.
Going through the dungeons can yield valuable loot. Players can acquire so-called mutaplasmids in the area. By combining these with existing modules, they become much stronger Abyssal modules. There is also a chance that the module will break as a result of combining.
On May 6, mmorpg EVE Online will be fifteen years old. In honor of that anniversary, the developer has made a video with highlights from the past few years.
