Intel’s upcoming discrete graphics high-end chip will appear in 2020
The discrete GPU that Intel is working on will be released in 2020, the chip company has announced. The GPU should give the company a better position in the market for artificial intelligence, gaming, machine learning and graphics development.
Intel confirms that the graphics chip will appear in 2020 without giving further details and only referring to the message from November last year, when it became known that AMD Radeon Raja Koduri was going to work at Intel to work on GPUs.
In the growing machine learning and artificial intelligence market, Nvidia is gaining market share with its Tesla accelerators and the market for high-end video cards for gaming and cryptocurrency mining is also thriving. This does not serve Intel with its integrated GPUs.
The graphics chips that Koduri and his team are working on should change this. Internally, the GPUs would bear the code names Arctic Sound and Jupiter Sound.
