Intel shows NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon that fits three-slot GPUs
Intel has shown off the NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon, a barebones mini PC that has a larger chassis than previous NUC Extreme models. The larger housing allows for a larger graphics card that takes up up to three slots.
The company says it has given the NUC 13 Extreme Raptor Canyon support for larger GPUs based on customer feedback. Intel showed the new NUC in a Twitch stream; the reveal with more specifications will follow later. The NUC is 13.9 liters in size; the NUC 12 Extreme Dragon Canyon measures 8 liters.
The NUC 13 Extreme is not only larger, but also has a different layout than the NUC 12 Extreme. With the new NUC, the GPU is located at the bottom of the barebones mini-PC and the motherboard is located above it in its own compartment. On the left side are two 120mm fans, each cooling one of the compartments. Intel supplies the NUCs with Raptor Lake processors.
