Intel puts new Atom processors in the price list
Intel has added three new processors to its price list. It is probably Atom processors, with type numbers N2805, N2810 and N2910. The processors are said to have ValleyView-M cores and are intended for netbooks.
The processors have appeared in Intel’s price list in the ULV Celeron M section, reports CPU world. Judging by the type numbers, however, these seem to be Atom chips intended for netbooks. Intel itself has not disclosed much about the chips, except for the number of cores, the clock frequency and the cache memory. At $132, the price is quite high for an Atom chip. In comparison, the price of an Atom N2800 is a lot lower at about $47. Maybe Intel will lower the price further.
Intel will bake the next generation of Atom chips at 22nm. The processors are only supplied as a soc in different variants, including variants for embedded systems. A previously published presentation from Intel shows that the Valleyview-M-socs will have an integrated Gen 7 GPU, which supports DirectX 11 and can display images at a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. The consumption of the socs would be between four and ten watts.
