Intel puts Apollo Lake socks online
Chip manufacturer Intel has put the details of its Apollo Lake processors online. It concerns three desktop SKUs with a TDP of ten watts and three mobile variants with a TDP of six watts, according to the information.
Intel paid no attention to revealing the details, but FanlessTech discovered the specs, which are on Intel’s Ark site. All processors have processor cores that are based on the Goldmont architecture and the GPUs seem to be a derivative of the Skylake GPUs. The Apollo Lake generation is made at 14nm.
The mobile variants are the Pentium N4200, Celeron N3450 and N3350. All three have Goldmont processor cores that run at 1.1GHz by default. The Pentium can go to 2.5GHz, while the Celeron N3450 comes up to 2.2GHz and the dual-core N3350 comes out at 2.4GHz. There is also a difference in the GPUs; in all three cases it is a copy of the ninth generation, but the Pentium has an HD505, while the Celerons have an HD500.

The desktop variants also include a Pentium and two Celerons. The Pentium J4205 is a quadcore at 1.5GHz with a boost to 2.6GHz. The Celeron J3455 has four cores at 1.5GHz with a maximum of 2.3GHz, while the J3355 is a dual-core at 2GHz with a maximum of 2.5GHz.
With the Pentiums for both desktop and mobile, Intel charges $161 per copy, while the four Celerons must fetch $107 each. The processors are intended for entry-level PCs and convertibles. Goldmont processors for tablets and smartphones will not come, because Intel has canceled them. Intel announced Apollo Lake this spring, but has so far been tight-lipped about the exact details of the processors.
